El Paso Conservation Action Grou

The El Paso Conservation Action Group is made up of people in El Paso and the surrounding area who care about the future of our Earth. We are concerned about environmental issues including global warming, fossil fuel dependency and the viable alternatives to fossil fuels, urban sprawl, recycling, public transportation, water conservation, wildlife conservation, endangered species, and biodiversity conservation. We are forming a network of concerned citizens who are willing and interested in implementing positive change in El Paso that will raise the environmental consciousness of our community. We care about our children and our children's children and echo the challenge expressed by Margaret Mead who said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead, The Utne Reader, 1992

The Greatest American Challenge

The greatest challenge facing America today is learning how to radically refocus and reinvent how we live. To become a society determined to live in harmony with nature will take a lot of work and a grassroots effort unlike any activist movement the world has ever seen. We have ignored the pleas and warnings of the scientific community way too long. Everyone concerned should plan to see the new film, An Inconvenient Truth.

Cinemark ran the documentary at Tinseltown in East El Paso from July 1 to July 13 , 2006 running the film at the inconvenient times of 9:30am and 8:50pm only. Other showings have been sponsored by UTEP and at various other locations in town. Learn more by watching video clips and slide shows at:
